Floyd Mayweather has named his top five boxers of all-time, ranking Muhammad Ali behind him as fifth on his list.
The 44-year-old boxer explained that Ali did not deserve a spot higher on his ranking as he only fought in one weight category.”
Ali, only one weight class and really lost to Ken Norton three times,” Mayweather told ESPN.
“What he did is he stood for a cause in an era when African Americans didn’t stand up for their people.”
Back in October, Mayweather had made clear that Ali should not be considered as the best boxer of all time.
“Is Ali the same fighter that got beat by a fighter with seven fights? Leon Spinks beat Muhammad Ali when he only had seven fights,” Mayweather told Shannon Sharpe on Club Shay Shay.
“What’s the heavyweight guy that Ali fought three times, Ken Norton? Ken Norton really beat Ali three times, go back and look at the fights.”
